Bellow Gill Swimbait

This is a unique twist on a Bellow Gill that I don’t think has been done yet…. a swimbait version.  This is still in the testing phase right now but results are looking pretty good so far so I might be on to something here.

The over all design is just like a normal Bellows gill lure but I added a tail.

This is what the single cavity test mold is going to look like.

Here are the first few test baits. I actual sent these to some one as a bit trade so I’ll have to see if I here back on how they preformed.

For testing purposes I just stuck a big jig head in this one to see how it swims. Like mentioned it worked pretty well during testing I just need to get out and fish with it now.

Update April 2023 – It’s been pointed out to me by a few people that several companies are now offering Bellow Gill Swim Baits.  I’m sure it’s just a case of Great Minds Think Alike… Plus I was never going to bring this to any kind of market anyway (besides selling my print files) so it’s not a big deal to me. If you looking for something like this check out Hog Salad Bait Molds they have a pretty cool looking one of these types of baits available.
