This was my first venture into R/C flying back in the early 90’s.  This was a Hobby Shack Spirit of 76 Glider Kit with a Cox .049 motor on a wing top power pod and it was flown a with an Futaba AM radio.  This is the only picture I have of this plane and as you can tell from the duct tape on the nose it was a learning experience.  One of my most memorable flights ever was the first flight of this plane in a friends back yard… I only flew of a few minutes as the .049 tank was tiny but coming in for a landing I had to swoop over some trees, dive under a clothes line and then pull up to avoid the pool which I just cleared the edge of and  I ended up landing right in the pool. I say landed but it was more of a perfect crash landing.  Being a foam plane it was totally fine after that landing and I was hooked on flying after that.
