Weird Al Accordion Prop

(Sorry Files for this project are not available.)

This is a mini replica of one of Weird Al’s Accordions I made for this years Halloween costumes.

Originally I bought this working kids accordion from Amazon but then decided to make a (non playable) more realistic version.

This is the Weird Al’s Accordion I found that I liked and would try to replicate (only smaller of course).

I found this Accordion STL on Thingiverse uploaded by Wongfou2 but it was a single piece so it was pretty much unprintable. Using the overall design I spent a few hours cutting it up to amke it printable and also redesigning other aspects of it to resemble Weird Al’s version.  The pieces were then scaled small enough to fit my print bed and later glued together.

This is the finished prop, Overall I am very happy with how it turned out. (Sorry, It was a rushed project so I didn’t take build pictures.)

I left the Left Side the same as the original STL but made my own fake strap…

… but changed a lot of the right side by adding the keyboard and other buttons along with the graphics and Roland name.

The back just got some quick mounts to attach a strap too.

Here is me wearing the Accordion to show the overall size.  The costume was a hit at the parties I attended.
