This is a JDB Aerotec F4F Wildcat Combat Plane. The first flight was a little hairy because I had to much throw in the elevator but other than that its is one of the smoothing flying planes I’ve flown.

This is what the kit looked like straight out of the box.

After a few hours of work it was ready for paint.

After about the second flight with this plane a fellow flyer by the name of Dan egged me into tying a streamer on it. The first combat session was just with him but it was a blast. The next flight was where it all started. I managed to get my first cut with this plane on the next flight and along with it I took half the stab of the Dan’s plane off. Well I really had somewhere to be but was once again egged into one more flight so revenge could be had. Well as you can see from the pictures below “Pay Back is a Bi*ch.”  I took Dan’s wing right in the backbone and it split my plane right in half. I suffered the most damage, Dan’s plane only had a broken wing and was Flying again the next week.

Although it went from maiden flight to its 1st demise in about 5 flights it was worth it, we had a good laugh and with a little epoxy it was flying again and good as new…

…or at least I thought so until the wing came off in flight. This was the planes 2nd demise it happened when I was just flying along level at about 3/4 Throttle and the left wing just came off. After that it did its impression of a lawn dart.

Damage after the lawn dart.

Once again after a little more Epoxy and it was flying again. Unfortunately I had another midair disaster after that and I had to retire it finally… It served me well though.
